Have you bought an eye cream recently? Then you will know how confusing it is? There are numerous companies out there making outlandish claims as to what they’re cream can do for you.
They tell you it will get rid of wrinkles, reduce puffiness, brighten dark circles, diminish bags, blah blah blah. You get so bamboozled with all the hype you forget to ask “but what is actually in the cream?” Or “will it damage my eyesight?”
So here’s a heads up!
Many of the ingredients used in eye products contain damaging chemicals that will actually have a detrimental effect on your delicate eye area, not improve it, not to mention the damage inflicted on the mucous membrane within the eye and even the eye itself!
As you probably know the skin around the eye is extremely thin and fragile, and wrinkles develop as a result of repetitive muscle movements, loss of collagen and elastin. Slapping on an eye cream on will only lead to to the development of milia (blocked sebaceous glands), and if the cream gets inside the eye set up an irritation or at worst infection!
So what to do?
Read the labels, make sure there are no chemicals such as Dioxane, parabens, mineral oils and perfumes, contained in the cream or gel.
Choose eye gel or serum over cream, they’re much lighter, don’t clog the tiny pores, and are more effective at reducing puffiness.
Ensure all the ingredients are natural, the results will be just as effective with no adverse side affects.
Oh and a wee tip. Keep your eye treatment in the fridge if you suffer from puffy eyes, it really helps to reduce puffiness and feels soooooo good.
Let’s keep those baby blues, beautiful AND healthy!
